SPRINGFIELD, MO. - In the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships the Salukis were able to finish strong as they won three of their final five matches of the tournament.

Junior Maria Blanco was able to notch a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Katie Chiu of Creighton, as freshmen Laura Bredniak defeated Katie Bowen of Bradley (7-6, 4, 6-1) and freshmen Amanda Taillefer beat Deidre Senders of Creighton (6-4, 6-3).

The Salukis will be back in action on Oct. 8-9 as they host the annual Saluki Fall Classic. All results for the MVC championships can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com or at www.mvc.org.
